Fraud-risk order holds

Updated July 2, 2026

With physical goods, a fraudulent order costs you a product. With digital goods, the buyer keeps the file forever. Fulfile can hold delivery on orders Shopify flags as risky until you approve them.

How it works

  • When an order is paid, Fulfile checks Shopify's fraud analysis before emailing anything.
  • If the risk meets your threshold, the delivery is held: no email, no downloads, and the download page shows a neutral review notice.
  • You approve or reject held orders from the Deliveries page. Approving sends the delivery immediately; rejecting revokes access.
  • If Shopify revises an order's risk later, Fulfile re-evaluates it automatically.

Thresholds and plans

  • Hold high-risk orders: included on every plan, on by default.
  • Hold medium and high risk: Starter and Pro.
  • Off: deliver every order immediately (Settings, then Fraud protection).

Unlike apps that hard-block risky orders automatically, Fulfile keeps you in control, so a false positive never silently costs you a real customer.
